any more refashioning?

I'm going to do a class on refashioning in October.  Any other project ideas you guys know of that I could show?  Also is it ok if I print some of your picts from this blog that you've already posted to give the class ideas?  It will be themed in preparation for the holidays so gift-able ideas are specifically what I'm looking for.  Thanks!

  1. Is this for an enrichment class, I mean R.S. Meeting? You are more than welcome to use any of my pics. I'll keep my eye open for other ideas.

  2. kind of, I'm the provident living leader, so it will be a provident living class. Thanks for letting me use your ideas. I've been wanting to turn a cupboard(I'm still looking for a good one) into a fridge for my girls Christmas gift and put a magnet board on part of it to hang one of the leap frog magnet word things on. So this class will give me a good reason to do it early. Thanks for any other ideas you guys might come across too!

  3. I tried leaving this last night, but it didn't work out. There's a great site called new dress a day that's all about refashioning thrift store finds. You might be able to find some things there.

We have also made pool bags in our RS out of old t-shirts by cutting off the top side (sleeves and neck) and sewing it closed on that raw edge. Then you can either use some of the left over shirt material or ribbons for handles.

  4. Jess, I was just thinking about this. I just googled t-shirt scarf and found lots of cute ideas for making scarves out of old t-shirts. I think scarves make fun gifts. just a thought. You will have to let us know how your class goes next month. Good luck!

  5. The girl I'm teaching with has a book or something about 100 things you can do with an old tshirt. I think she is going to try a scarf and maybe a rug or some different things to show that night. My toy cupboard fridge is turning out smashingly, and I'm making some felt foods for it, if you have any good sites for making felt bread that would be great. I've got fruits and veggies down and I think I'll do bread, cheese, and maybe some eggs and be done. I also want to do milk, juice, yogurt, ketchup, salad dressing, etc. but I'm not sure how to go about those. Any suggestions? Maybe that's too much for a pretend fridge anyway?
